DP Coaching Centre is a small, family run, private educational centre, located in the heart of Nicosia. It was founded in 1977, mainly focusing on teaching English as a foreign language. We provide English language courses for all levels, from children to adults, on both an individual or group setting. Our emphasis is and has always been on providing quality education within a friendly environment while trying to achieve the best results. This is why we only teach in small groups, in order to provide as much attention as possible to the needs of our students.
Other services provided through our educational centre include specialized speaking classes under different scenarios, proofreading and translations for all types of academic and professional documents, CV guidance and preparation, training for academic and professional interviews, as well as assistance and guidance for school or university assignments. |

Learning through Games
Our teaching philosophy is centred around learning through games, and this is incorporated in our lessons, especially through the oral component, to which our students have responded with great enthusiasm. Through this method, research has shown that children learn better and faster (e.g. see Stanford University Report, March 2013). Learning through Games includes various linguistic games, in both an individual and group setting, which aim at improving speech development, pronunciation and syntax, consequently improving the children's confidence and fluency in speaking. The same method is applied to the listening component of the lessons, which is considered difficult for many students due to their lack of exposure to different stimulations of the English language in their daily routines. This is conducted through various games and activities including listening to songs, narrations and movie or cartoon clips. |
